SELERYS is an innovative Start’Up providing fine-scale weather-based decision support systems. The company has developed a new, highly competitive storm hazard detection solution called SKYDETECT. This unique solution in the world is able to provide real local weather information. It has already been used for several years by several countries in Europe and Asia Minor, in the fields of agriculture and the automobile.
Through an ambitious R & D program, SELERYS aims to bring new services with high added value to the weather-dependent industry. It was able to federate partners with advanced technologies and obtained the necessary funding to carry out its research project.
Today, the company is looking for a key resource to implement new local weather forecast models based on new unconventional sensors.
Responsibilities:
As a Meteorological Model Project Manager you will have the opportunity to work on many types of local and rapid climate phenomena, to set up monitoring and warning models for all dependent weather industrial sectors. This will include:
Manipulate, understand, interpret, analyze all types of weather data, in all possible formats, textual, coded, graphic, pictograms, cartographies, etc …
Mastering new unconventional sensors
Apply the scientific principles of weather, hydrology, atmospheric physics and other disciplines to propose forecasts.
Forecast on a specific pilot territory.
Know how to analyze new types of weather data when they are available.
Implementation of new models based in particular on the new sensors.
Justify & explain weather forecasts to team members.
Regular interactions with high-level partners in information systems
And other exciting missions.
Experiences & qualifications:
Master degree in meteorology or atmospheric physics or equivalent qualifications
Geographic Information Systems Skills
Experience in local weather forecast
Project Management & Teamwork Capabilities
Ability to adapt to any new type of data.
Ability to use mathematical concepts related to weather forecasts as well as numerical modeling.
Ability to analyze & integrate multiple input data, natures & heterogeneous sources, treat them according to adequate scientific principles
Use of office tools (word processing, spreadsheet …)
English fluent preferred.
