Cloud seeding software solutions

Optimize weather decisions

The weather decision support software provided by Selerys, named CIRRUS, is an advanced solution designed to optimize weather decision processes by concentrating all meteorological data into one digital platform. This innovative platform offers a highly competitive and ergonomic environment for weather-related decisions, making it an essential tool for cloud seeding operations.

Key features of CIRRUS meteorological decision support software

Multi-user management

The CIRRUS platform supports multi-user management, allowing each account to be nominative and customizable. Specific user rights management can be provided by Selerys, ensuring that each user has access to the appropriate features and data.

Centralized display for SKYDETECT, EVEARLYS & SOBLI

CIRRUS offers a centralized display for SKYDETECT, EVEARLYS and SOBLI, providing a flares stock follow-up tool with live displays of specific SOBLI units or global launches. This feature includes:

Global overview: real-time visualization of all LAICO launchers’ locations.

Local atmospheric conditions: radar data, lightning data or weather stations providing information such as temperature, wind speed, pressure, and hydrometeor types, essential for accurate storm risk / opportunity assessment and decision-making

Atmospheric monitoring management

CIRRUS excels in atmospheric monitoring with the following capabilities:

Cloud cells tracking: real-time (1 image per minute) scan of the half sphere in HD dedicated to tracking of cloud cells.

Seedable clouds identification algorithm: a unique tool designed by Selerys experts to identify clouds that represent cloud seeding opportunities and evaluate their activity levels based on behavior and motion.

Cloud motion nowcast: anticipates the motions of cloud cells for the next 10 to 20 minutes, aiding in proactive decision-making.

Other features that we invite you to discover

Autonomous alert system

The CIRRUS platform offers a robust autonomous alert system to keep users informed:

Custom alert levels: users can set personalized thresholds for alerts.

Tailored alert zones: users can request customized alert zones during the project setup.

Alert notifications: receive storm alerts via SMS, email, or phone, based on user-defined thresholds and zones.

Activities archives

CIRRUS provides a user-friendly interface for accessing cloud activity archives, with features including:

Archive data access: availability of a year’s or more worth of cloud activity information.
Event research tool: quickly find specific events using date or period searches.

Calendar highlighting: navigation calendar highlights stormy days in red, saving time in locating specific storms.

Favorites tagging: tag favorite events for faster access in the future.

Remote monitoring

CIRRUS includes comprehensive remote monitoring capabilities:

Remote command interface: activate balloon / drones launches remotely using a centralized control interface designed by Selerys engineers.

Sensors and systems monitoring: regular self-checks and live status displays for sensors and systems, with automated alerts for status changes. Key monitoring metrics include online/offline status, battery level, GSM reception, acquisition level, and peripheral system statuses.

SOBLI monitoring: similar remote monitoring features for SOBLI units, ensuring real-time visibility of balloon status, gas levels, and more.

Tracking balloons or drones thanks to GPS

CIRRUS includes the remote real time display for all the GPS balloons or drones, simultaneously:

Cloud seeding balloon / drone real time position : CIRRUS provides real-time tracking of cloud seeding balloons and drones, displaying their exact positions and flight paths. This ensures precise deployment and effective management of operations.

Cloud seeding balloons / drone live radiosonding data : each balloon / Drone is tracked and collect radiosonding data generating an extensive data base of atmospheric data for continuous improvement of operations and scientific research.

Stock Management Tool

The CIRRUS platform includes a flares stock follow-up tool, reporting the number of balloons launched / drone flights by each SOBLI unit to provide a real-time overview of consumption and remaining stock. This feature helps users maintain optimal inventory levels and ensure readiness for future operations.
